Job Summary

As a Proposal Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the Sales and Business Development team by creating compelling and technically sound proposals in response to client requirements. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, understanding client needs, and crafting solutions that align with our products and services. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and persuasive proposals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Sales team to understand client requirements and expectations.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of client requests and specifications to identify key technical and business requirements.
  • Technical Solution Development:
    • Collaborate with engineering, product development, and other relevant teams to design technically feasible and innovative solutions.
    • Develop detailed technical proposals that address client needs, providing comprehensive and clear explanations of the proposed solutions.
  • Proposal Writing:
    • Prepare well-structured, clear, and persuasive proposals tailored to specific client requirements.
    • Create and maintain a repository of proposal templates, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest technical information and market trends.
  • Cost Estimation:
    • Collaborate with the finance and project management teams to develop accurate cost estimates for proposed solutions.
    • Ensure that cost estimates align with the proposed technical solutions and meet the client's budgetary constraints.
  • Presentation and Communication:
    • Present proposals to clients in a clear and professional manner, addressing technical questions and concerns.
    • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Competitive Analysis:
    • Conduct research on competitors and industry trends to ensure proposals are competitive and innovative.
    • Provide insights on market dynamics and potential areas for improvement in our offerings.
  • Proposal Management:
    • Track and manage proposal timelines, ensuring timely submission of high-quality proposals.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information and ensure proposal compliance with client requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in proposal engineering or a similar technical sales support role.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to understand and articulate complex technical concepts.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and proposal management tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
